FN FNC
This
weapon is strongly inspired by the AK-47, but simplified.
The
breech is made of deep-drawn welded sheet metal, the entire casing is made of
aluminium alloy.
Caliber 5. 56x45 mm, except exception.
There
are two main versions: the standard FNC with a fixed polymer stock or folding
stock (FNC M2) and the FNC Para (or FNC M3) with folding stock but 8.5 cm
shorter barrel.
A
semi-automatic version of the FNC, the Sport or Sporter model for export (with +
or - 6000 in the United States before 1989), was timidly marketed for the
civilian and police market. It is distinguished by the absence of a selector,
bayonet pin and case deflector.
